Default Help deciding which to do for gsr build

Alright guys I need some help on deciding what to do. First I have a 1994 civic cx hatchback with a 00 gsr w/b16 tranny. I have the following mods skunk2 intake manifold, arp headstuds, act clutch, chipped p28 and golden eagle headgasket. I am looking to go boost but I only want to make about 300 hp because it is being built just for me and it's a daily driver. Really don't plan on taking it to the track but might want to burn some of these clowns around town if the setting looks right. N E ways I was told that a stock gsr can handle 12 lbs of boost but I want to run about 7 lbs. I know myself and I will not want more I know what people say but I'll build a racecar for that. I was told that I need to go and buy cp pistons and eagle rods but I was more like if a stock gsr can handle 12 lbs why spend a grand on just rods and pistons when I could put that into the head. I don't want to buy forged pistons and rods and never use their full potential a waste of money I think. Can I just do a oem pistons reuse my rods and put the rest of the money in the head? I wanted to do supertech springs and retainers with ferrea valves and some ctr cams with sk2 cam gears, three angle vavle job and so on probably not a port and polish but you get the point. Please let me know your opionion on the matter thanks.

Im interested as well. Im about to drop in a GSR into my 92 SI Hatch and plan to boost, but keeping it mild. 300-325 if what I will shoot for first, and then go from there.

no imput on what pistons I should use for a mild build? Is it true that a gsr can handle 7-12 lbs of boost stock?

Stock motor with a decent sized turbo and a good tune will get you near your 300hp mark. Rods and pistons can get you over 400. Put your money in a good turbo and even better tune.
