Default help with d16z6

I bought my del sol about a week ago and have been working on it but now im ready to pull off the head. they think its a blown headgasket. The valve cover is off and they said the heads ready to be pulled. I dont know why they didnt do it themselves but whatever. Could you guys help me out with how to take the head off correctley. I would really appreciate it. I havent had much hands on stuff with taking motors apart. thanks

You should NOT be doing a headgasket if you do not know how to get the head off. I am not trying to be an ******* but I think you should have more experience working on motors before you do a headgasket.

First thing you'll have to do is set the motor to TDC, and then loosen the timing belt.

Undo the headbolts starting from the middle and work your way out.

You'll have to disconnect the had from the IM too (just bolts on the IM)

No problem. That's basically the jist of it. If you need more information it can definately be found by searching.

Searching and asking questions when I needed to is definately how I made it through my headgasket/ARP headstud install.

If you do plan to reuse this motor I would reccomend getting ARP headstuds.

Honda headbolts should be replaced after each use, and ARP headstuds are re-useable. They're only like $20-30 more than the Honda bolts, too.
