Help Compression with different oil?

Help Compression with different oil?
I heard somewhere that putting 10w30 oil instead of 5w30 oil helps the engine's compression go up? Not sure if this is true, or just a myth.
I am about to do an oil change so i'm just wondering if I should stick with 5w30, or try out 10w30?
I have a D16Y8.

Not true...unless your piston rings are beggining to allow pil through them, oil acts as a sealer in engines, so if a lower weight oil is slipping by the piston rings, a higher weight oil have a better chance of not slipping by... And therefore raising the comprrssion... As for your personal car, it depends on your area if u live in a relatively cold area, 5/30... If you are in a relatively hot area or season.. U can get away with 10/30... Honda suggest 5/30 all around for the y8

Multi-viscosity oil is rated as cold weight/hot weight. First number is cold oil. Second number is oil at operating temperature. Going from 5w30 to 10w30 won't do a thing to cut down on oil consumption or improve compression. when they are at operating temperature they are both a 30 weight oil. The only difference between them is when the oil is cold. One will be a 5 weight oil and the other will be a 10 weight when it's cold. Within 5 min of driving they will be the same.

Even jumping to 5w 40 won't do that much for you as far as performance. Daily driving it might help with blow by a little bit because there isn't a whole lot of cylinder pressure at the low loads but at wide open you won't see a change.

Helps the engine's compression go up?
The only way to increase compression is to change something between the piston head and the valves. If you have oil in there, something is wrong. No, changing weight won't change your compression.
