help clearing headlamp/turn signals on 2000 sedan
My friend is bringin his car over for me to take a look at a fucked up front end, but while i have the bumper off he's asked if i could clear the headlamp turn signals. i ran a search and found this link so far https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=207050 but still had some questions
1) Is it really safe to be heating up the headlamps in the oven like that?
2) Will reusing the original sealant in this way still create a tight seal when done?
3) So is it chrome underneath that amber reflector if i crack it off??
4) Anythin else i oughta kno?
If someone actually has a link to a website or an earlier post with a little more detail, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for all the help guys.
Eric.

ok as for heating the headlights in the oven, it's safe (officially done it 8 times now) just keep an eye on them becuase you dont want the nipples to melt and turn white....the process is fairly easy....i perfer the blackhousing/amber look, but hey if you wanna clear em' out go for it.....i think you can find chrome tape at any auto parts store, just make sure it sticks nice so in a month you dont have a peeling sticker INSIDE the headlight...heh.....also, make SUUURE you seal them up good with a black silicone when you're done so that water/moisture doesnt fog them up from the inside...good luck

Thanks for the info but we already finished. Came out really nice. We forgot about it for a sec and one small section of the plastic got burnt. hehe.. But its not even noticable. And yea i found the sticker at autozone for like 3-4 bucks. As for the black housing look, i saw it the other day rite next to another car who had it just cleared, and the black housing for some reason just didnt seem to match with the car. But thats just my opinion.
