HELP! CEL LIGHT ON/CAR EATING ANTIFREEZE!!!
I started up the car today with no problem, and drove about a good 40 miles until my car started smoking. Pulled to the side, and popped the hood. There was no antifreeze in the reservoir, so I went to fill it up. The smoking stopped for a little until about 10 miles later when it started smoking worse. Now the car is smoking worse and worse, also popped the hood and checked again. The antifreeze I just filled up into the reservoir is all gone. What's going on?! Throughout the period of smoking, the CEL is on!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: (turboeg831)
maybe you need a new sensor. does the car overheat? my guess is its blowing your coolant out of the reservoir itself. make sure the radiator is full.

or there is the possibility that you blew a headgasket and now it is dumping antifreeze into the cylinders cause it to burn off, especially if you have boost and it is stock internals and head gaskets too

My car has never been boosted. It's just a beater d16y7 with NO modifications WHATSOEVER!
Well anyways, update on the situation. I just replaced the sensor, but the CEL is still on. Do I have to reset the ECU? Stupid me, I didn't reset the ecu, now the same thing is happening again. The blowing of the coolant still persists. What do I do now!? Thanks!!!

I 2nd this, burning massive amounts of coolant points towards a blown headgasket, no better time for a mini-me swap ^^
Also CEL light is probably coming on becuase your burning up all your coolant and the sensor cant read air, so it throws a trouble code.

Thats a blown headgasket! Its an easy fix (if you know what you are doing). A shop is prob gonna charge you anywhere from $500-$1000
