all kinds of different ways?!?! HUH?!

when looking at your distributor one of the terminals should be labeled with a "C" that terminal is for cylinder #1. then going in a clock-wise order plug in #3, #4, #2. here's a diagram of what mine looks like

____________(3)
_________________(4)
________(1)C
______________(2)

yours might look like this

_____________(3)

________(1)C______(4)

_____________(2)

or this

__________(1)C
__________________(3)

________(2)
________________(4)

get the idea?

good, now get a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL!

SHOE!

all 4- cylinders fire in that order, unless you have a porsche boxter which is
4-2-3-1

you know that 1 is the cylinder on the timing side right.

um, I suggest finding another solution that is less noticeable (i would have your car stolen lickety split) and easier to do.

Think, hidden main fuse, something along those lines, or put your main relay where you can disconnect and remove it easily, those are the first 2 ideas that come to my mind.
