Help?? Car without MAP sensor Runs??
Swaped a OBD1 B16 into a 96 civic 5spd DX with an OBD1 P30 using an OBD2a to OBD1 jumper harness. Problem is every Honda I've touched as soon as you disconnect the MAP sensor the car will die, this car will pick and idle better then with the MAP hooked up. Swaped MAP sensors, ECU, jumper harness, and checked voltage and wiring against my 96 teg (helms wasn't around at the time) Another thing this was a 3 wire IACV which converted to 2 wire. Not sure if anything could be wrong with this or causing this odd problem. Car is running but not well enough to drive, any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

nope there right. Done checked that. All of the correct pins for the plug are going to the correct ECU pin outs also

Re: (schardbody)
using a T/B map but had to run a vacumn line into it from the small one off the trottle body so its the same concept as the firewall mounted ones. Known a few others who did it same way and no problems.

Re: (schardbody)
No codes. Will only give a code if the MAP is completely unplug from the main plug. You can remove the vacuum hose and it idles better but no code. The map sensor is good because it came out of my car. The ECU isn't the problem because tried mine and same problem. I've tried everything I can think of. This car orginally used the 3 wire IACV which converted to 2 wire and that seems ok but thats the only wiring change in the engine harness.

Re: (zCivic)
Bringing this back from the dead. The car still has MAP issues. One new update which dunno if this will get the ball rolling is the lack of brakes since the install. It seems like the brake booster isn't recieving enough vacuum to work properly. Anyone chime in with some info please before I go nuckin futs
