Help with a/c
Hey guys, I have a stock '94 Civic DX hatchback. A few weeks back when the temperature here in Vegas went sky high, my a/c compressor started to make a weird noise, like grinding. I never had any problems with it, it cooled very well until the summer came. I kept using it until one day the compressor just went out, the housing cracked and let all the refrigerant and oil out. Someone advised me to replace the compressor, condenser coil, drier and expansion valve. I purchased and replaced all except expansion valve (because new one I ordered did not fit). Evacuated and charged it, temp. coming out of vent was cool but not cold, suction line was cool, discharge was very hot, checked my pressures suction was at about 30-35 psi and stayed there, did not go up or down at all, head pressure was running 200-225 psi. When stationary and I revved the engine low side would drop down to 20 psi and the head pressure would go very high. I tried driving around and at normal speeds it would be the same and when I would try higher speeds air coming ou would come out warm. Can anyone help?
