switch spark plug with known good (it's out already right), check wire for spark and proper seating & impedance if possible, check cap for bent contact.

Re: HELP b18 not running right (miahmouse)
cap is fine, found out that i am getting a spark, but the cylinder is just not firing. i started the engine pulled each plug one at a time and each one when i pulled it the engines idle when down, when i got to the 4th plug when i pulled it the idle stayed the same, it is getting fuel just not being burnt. I think maybe its a burnt valve, so i just took it to my local shop to be put on the diagnostic machine to know for sure

got it back today they set the cam timing for $130 and they said i needed a new injector on cylinder number 4 so i took the car home and swapped it out with one from my old motor, started it up and runs like a champ, caught gears up to 3rd on stock clutch
