Help for B16A2
Hi there!
I've bought a 3dr EK4 from 2000 and some parts for the engine but I need some help from you m8's...
I have:
- Full ITR intake
- ITR 4-2-1 ex. manifold
- 60mm decat. pipe
- OBX Twinloop
- P30 Ecu (Enable Vtec @ 5375rpm & Rev @ 8522rpm)
Bought for the engine:
- Skunk2 PRO1
- Skunk2 Pro Series Valve Springs Set
- Skunk2 Valve Set High Comp.
- Skunk2 Titanium Retainers
- Skunk2 Pro Cam Gears Titanium
Need to buy:
- EK9 Pistons
I will also skim the head, port polished, lightened flywheel and Crankshaft.
Someone more expert in tuning B16 and B18 tell me that with this setup, PRO1 cams to be more specific, won't work good with this setup...
Can you give me some help? Should I sell the camshafts?
King regards

Re: Help for B16A2 (ZAWAIA)
stay away from the CTR pistons man. make your life alot easier. ditch the CTR pistons for 11.5:1 forged CP's made for B16A compression height. CTR pistons are too tall and you wont have valve clearance is what buddy meant most likely. specially if your talking planing the head or block. unless you wanted to pay someone to mill them for you. would most likely cost more than a set of forged pistons.

yeah if you are thinking of shaving the head, don't use those pistons, you will most likely have clearance problems. those cams will work maybe he meant that since you are going with a high compression build that, going with a bigger cam would help extract more power out of it. just a geuss. good luck.

Well I would research more but CTR pistons are designed for B16 block, people usually try to avoid them when building B18 blocks since they sit higher and give crazy high compression.
Also because the domes make the mass higher it's not great for high-revving with long stroke engines but the b16 piston speeds are much lower because of short stroke and good r/s ratio. The key is to clay or clearance all your stuff "semi-assembled" before final assembly to make sure it'll work safely together.
