I had a motor + tranny shipped from Houston, TX to LA for about $150. Only took about 2 days, too. The company was Land Air Express, Inc.

I use Consolidated freightways through my work- really good guys, don't know about east coast...YELLOW PAGES!!

Consolidated works out on the East Coast, too. Roadway would probably do it, too.
