Welome to the world of older honda's.
It won't change if you change the locks. Honda's keys from those years are all very similar, once the keys are used a lot and some of the ridges or whatever they are called are grinded down over time, the key will fit other year cars with a little monkeying around.
Invest in a good alarm system. Many cut off switches. Several clubs/auto locks, Layer security its the only way. There is no fool proof security system.

naw man is way too eazy, i can use a random key, it wont even fit, and it still opens it, it just needs some tool that can fit in there and turn, so there's no way to fix this

most of my CRX buddies can all use each others keys but not to my 94 civic.
Most likely the key will not turn the ignition. Only the door.

true, but its pretty scary cuz they can take anything inside your car and sit there to try to start the car up

change the lock - new one would be better, but its bound to do it again. i've seen this geo prizm in high school that u can literally just push on the lock and it pops open. cheap things. lol

You will have to get new lock cylinders from honda. there not to bad $$ and are easy to take out of the door handle. Once you get the lock cylinders......open the phone book look in the yellow pages for lock smiths. Once you find one take the lock cylinder out of the door....... hand the lock smith your old cylinder, new cylinder and maybe your key. They will be able to rekey the new cylinder to your key. Then just pop them back in the door and you are good to go. It shouldn't be more then a few $$ to have them rekeyed

screw replacing the locks..
go keyless!!
the only one to replace is the hatch lock, the main doors are keyless
disconnect the rod that goes to the keycylinder. only problem is if the batt dies you have to crawl through the hatch.
but that isn't too hard.

Re: (88HaveFun)
Yes a pager alarm is more expensive, but its is worth it.
Installing it yourself isn't hard either - so you could save yourself some money and have a proper stealth install
please check out the Security forums for more details.

Re: (bpr0422)
go get new lock cylinders from honda, they include keys with the new ones, what happened isnt that the key can open any door its that the tumblers inside the lock wore down and any type of pressure will unlock it, correct?
happened all the time at my old work, its pretty easy, u can have a mechnic do it, but it pays 1.2 hours, at prooly 90 bucks an hour, its pretty easy to do yourself,

Re: (spork motorsports)
To add to what a couple others have said already, yes you can open the door with just about any Honda key from that year. And as I found out the other day, many of them actually do start the car as well. My friend got into my car and started it up with his key and then moved it to trick me. Was not very funny! So I am now in the process of going keyless, just to be safe...

yep pretty much my situation, thx for all the help guys :D
i was thinking either get new lock cylinders or do the keyless entry, like make it so the cylinders dont even control the lock anymore and only way for me to open the lock is wit the pager
what u guys think
