HELP 99-00 si rear disc swap problems
ok so I bought what I was told is si rear disc's to swap over on my 98 hatch. did some reasearch and thought I knew everthing that is needed. I got the swap but all was not good when I got home. There was some kinda of arm missing from the swap. I really didn;t check what I bought when I got it cause I had got stuff from this guy before. not to mention he put this in my car so I didn't get to see it before I got home from the 2 hour drive. The brake lines were cut. So I was to order just the si rear braided lines from the shop I go to. I was gonna upgrade these anyways. They fit fine, the original ones I had on my hatch didn't(swaped over to braided lines already) so I thought these rear disc brakes were si. Now there is the issue of the missing arm. The lca on my hatch does not look the same. Now I know the si has different lca's from the lower models. When I look at the si lca's on majestic honda(see pic below) they don't match what is on the rear disc's I have. When I went to the junkyard today to go get some lca's the ones the guy brought to me were the kinda that are picutred in the majestic honda pic. So my question is do I have si rear disc's and if I do what am I missing. If these aren't si rear disc's then what do I have. from what I have rear the rear calipers are all the same and the difference in the rear brakes is the lca. help is greatly appreciated as I was suposed to swap these out tomorrow.

Re: HELP 99-00 si rear disc swap problems (enrique)
Those aren't 99-00 Si discs. They are from a 5th gen civic (or an integra), most likely a 92-95 si.
From what I understand, they are the same size, so it's not a big deal.
Just take off that lca and use yours. Take off the brake lines and get new ones.
Everything will still work. So I wouldn't worry about it.
Btw, how is that exhaust treating you?

its good but the thing that puzzles me is why do the 99-00 si braided lines that I bought bolt up to the caliper? does the older si share the same brake lines?

Basically, all Civics and Integras with rear discs are the same. The only difference, like you said are the LCAs and shocks. So, they will both bolt up in the same locations.

Whats all this talk of LCA's? you use your stock LCA's brake lines and everything else...the only thing you swap is the trailing arm, disk, and caliper assembly.

since your replacing lines w/ braided, just use your stock lca's and move on. there are only 2 trailing arms that will bolt up to your car. integra, or Si. either one is fine.
use your stock lca's don't worry about anything being stronger, they aren't gonna break.

Re: HELP 99-00 si rear disc swap problems (DragII)
I know all of this, thanks. my question was what kind of rear disc's I had because the lca on them did not match those on my hatch nor those from an si. not to mention that the braided lines I bought for si rear discs fit the calipers. the question has been answered by fowler.
