HELP! Are 99-00 Civic Si and 96-00 Civic EX coupe midpipes the same?

HELP! Are 99-00 Civic Si and 96-00 Civic EX coupe midpipes the same?
I'm in need of a stock cat-back exhaust for my 1997 Civic EX coupe, and my buddy has his stock mid-pipe off his 2000 Si that I can use. My question is, do I need a Si cat for everything to bolt up? and will a Si mid-pipe bolt up to a stock civic EX muffler? Are they the same or what? 
HELP!
