Default Help with 96 civic wind noise

I have a 96 civic sedan and when driving 50 mph or faster, I get a lot of wind noise coming from my driver's side front window. I have manual windows and if I crank the window closed a little harder it stops but won't stay like that without me holding the crank. Is there something I can do to stop this noise like an adjustment? I'd rather not replace the window moldings because they're expensive and a pain in the *** to replace. I've thought about putting a strip of tape on the top part of the window to make a better seal but that's kind of ghetto. Any suggestions?

my first guess would be the two 10mm bolts that hold the window to the to the "scissors" could be loose. you would need to take the door panel off and crank the window up or down untill you can see the bolts through the access holes. make sure they are snugged up pretty well. you don't want to strip the out though.

if those bolts are tight, then you need a new regulator. i think the pivot wears out, or the gears can wear out too.

hand-crank windows are pretty simple, there's not much to pick from that could cause your problem

Is the actual sheet metal door window frame bent? If it does that, the glass wont seal right and it doesnt sit right in the weatherstripping

Well, I don't think that the door is bent at all, there's no signs of an accident. But it does seal up when I hold the crank tightly closed. I'll try to check the bolts when I get time. Any other suggestions?

If your car has been broken into most likey it damaged the guides above the window frame. look into checking that,
