Default Help!

Heres a question for you guys. My friend has a del sol si and it revs fine UNTIL it get to 3500 rpm and then it feels as if it hits a rev limiter, now it was throwing a code for an 02 sensor but it was replcaed and now it is still doing the same but with no check engine on. HelP!!!!

Pull the distributor cap off. If you see a fine red/brown dust lining the cap, you'll know that the bering inside is toast. You'll need a new distributor, if not, then it's probably the ignitor (also in the dist.)

before doing that....a buddy in his GSR was having the same problem...he never replaced the o2 sensor but it would only do it occasionally...it happened once while i was in the car with him going down the interstate....he turned the ignition to accessory (killing the engine) he then pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor a few times, turned the key back to ON, put it in gear and dumped the clutch (kick starting the motor) that solved his problem...this also happened to me once and i did the procedures listed about and it solved it for good....

when he was installing the new o2 sensor did he to the tip that goes into the exhaust? if so that could possibly be your problem too....

thats what i was ganna say. my guess would be the ignitor though
