Default help... 1995 honda civic ex 1.6

i just installed a new distributor i thought i lined up everything right.....it starts runs but when i press on the gas it doesnt have any power any ideas?

DOES IT START HARD??? THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO INSTALL THE DIST. SO U CAN'T PUT IT IN BACKWARDS, BUT PULL IT APART CHECK POINTS AND ROTOR

starts just fine everything seems okay until i press on the gas then it lacks power

this might sound dumb hahaha but is their any way to install the rotor wrong, cuz i mean it only goes on one way lol

did you mark your initial ignition timing? I usually just mark the distibutor with a reference point using a sharpie or a scratch mark across the upper mount and the top ear tab of the distributor. If not you have to reset your ignition timing, its pretty easy. First jump the service connector, using a timing light around the #1 spark plug wire (closest to the timing belt) set it to 16 deg BTDC. There are three marks close to each other on the crank pulley and one by itself, the one by itself is TDC for the #1 cylinder and this is what you have to line it up with. Use the guide aim mark on the side of the timing belt covers to help you line up the timing.

it does almost seem like the timing is off by a few degrees... where did the dist. come from or what out of???
