Default Hello everyone...New Guy Here with a Del Sol "fog light" question

Like the post says, I'm new here. I'm also new to import cars. I just bought a 94 Del Sol 'S' model. I love the car, fuel economy, styling, performance (well it gets around pretty good for a SOHC 1.5l 4cyl), etc, etc, etc.

I used to be in to and still am somewhat in to the domestic muscle scene, but just love working on cars of all types...

I have a question about my Del Sol...the lights that are on the bumper, the round ones toward the middle of the bumper do not work. I've replaced the bulbs in them and they still don't work. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

Thanks...

that is correct, your low beams have to be on for them to be on... they go off on high beam mode..

possibly a fuse, or maybe even the switch itself is defective.

don't bother with the fog lights... they don't put any light on the road anyway...

honestly I don't notice enough of a difference to make it useful.

Just curious, how could I wire them to use as daytime running lamps?

The reason I need them to work is because I'm not sure how strict the state inspector will be here in VA if they do not work...

Foglights aren't mandatory, you should be able to remove them and not have any problems.

being from va and owning a sol last time i had an inspection the guy mentioned i had illegal bulbs (had a minor blue tinting) in the foglights. he said if since i could have covered them up or taken them out they didn't count in the inspection.

They are not foglights, they are aux lights! But it is not suppose to be mandatory for them to work. i know my switch is going bad for mine, Sometimes it wont turn on, just keep pushing it a few times and then it works

I cleaned up the switch and it began to move freely and the lights worked fine. There was just a bunch of gunk in the switch. BTW it passed inspection
