Hella Bad gas mileage....
I have a Y7 in an EF hatch, I just drove it to seattle today (2 hours) and got 15 mpg
The car is throwing no codes, the idle is at 1400-1500
the only thing i can think of is a faulty fuel pressure regulator, if thats possible, or the car used to be turbo'd (im not positive) but it might have an aftermarket fuel pump
I just changed the oil with fully synthetic, and put ngk iridiums in there
the car smokes too, but it just smells like its running rich
Any help is appreciated
Thanks...

ive messed around with the vacum hookups etc. but no luck lowering the idle, i was thinking of removing the evac, to see if that would help

Re: Hella Bad gas mileage.... (nicko360)
take his advice on the o2 sensor... that idle is extremely high lol. my b18c1 idles at 800RPM as well... that's after a 5-10 minute warmup. if it has sat for like 6 hours or more, i always let it warm up, because it idle's at 1400RPM... once i let it run for 5-10 mins though, it drops to 800RPM. and then if i shut off the car and drive in like 3 hours, it starts idling at 800RPM. sorry to get off topic lol.

ill try the O2 sensor then, its just a shitty 1-wire, i dunno if that can make that big of a difference in gas mileage though
