Heavy Idling (started with stuttering)
I have a 93 Sol S and last week it started to stutter while at a stop. It would stutter up to about 3500 rpm and down to 1500 rpm (the differences would gradually get lower as the engine warmed up).
Starting today, anytime the gears were not engaged the engine rev'd to a consistent 4000 rpm. I also noticed that when I took my foot of the accelerator, while in gear, it was as if I had cruise control on... it maintains a nearly even speed with little to no noticeable deceleration for at least .75 to one mile.
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Heavy Idling (FLDAX)
Mayb its your idle valve or try cleaning your throttle body. I also have this problem before. when i'm idling, it will rev till 2,000 rpm den go down to 1,000pm, it will keep on rev-ing up and down until i move off.

clean your throttle body and spray some wd40 or something on the throttle cable..
i know not every case is the same, but thats what i did a couple years back when my old hatch was doing that.

take your intake off of the throttle body, look at the valve, does it look like its open? if it does, did you by any chance recently tighten the throttle cable? If you did, you might have spun that linkage on the shaft connected to the valve, turn it back to place by loosening the bolt.
If thats not it, you might have some gunk in there preventing it from closing all the way, clean it out good with some carb cleaner. Since your in there, take off you IACV and clean out that screen too. (dont use carb cleaner, you'll make the plastic piece inside brittle and it could fall apart, as a well as damage any seals on it..
