Default heater problem and temp gauge!!

my car takes forever to heat up. it doesn't heat up during idle but once car starts moving 15 minutes later it gets really hot. since i bought my 96 hatch in august 07 the temp gauge needle been up all the way to H but never had a problem with the car. i thought it was a bad gauge but just recently put on an ex cluster and needle still up there. Need help please..

check your thermostat...then start checking for hoses. it sounds like your thermostat is messing up and not opening when it should. thats what i think anyway...
