Heater Hose Removal, Remove Distributer?
The heater hose on my D16 that goes into the head right underneath the distributer has a huge slit at the bottom of it and pours coolant all out on the top of my tranny and makes huge puttles in a matter of minutes. The car looses so much coolant I can't really drive it until this is fixed.
Anyhow, the clamp to remove the hose faces the front of the motor where the two sensors are and its impossible to get off leaving everything intact. How should I go about removing it? Looks like the distributer needs to come off but I'm afraid to mess up my timing. Just mark it with a pencil, remove the 3 bolts and pull it off carefully? Or is there an easier way to get this fixed https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://img523.imageshack.us/img523/...ejdmjdmdv5.jpg pic for clicks https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif |
Re: Heater Hose Removal, Remove Distributer? (JUSTIN CORBITT)
The removal of the dizzy is really easy. I was skeptical at first, but once i used a straightedge and a nail to mark it i just took it off. Get a rag though so you can catch the oil behind it of course. You will be fine, should take about 2-5 minutes to remove depending on how cautious you are.
