Can you manually open the heater valve on the firewall?

Check the coolant level in both the radiator and reservoir.

You need to check the coolant level in the radiator. If it's fine, try bleeding the cooling system. If that doesn't regain heat, then the heater core may be clogged.

If flushing doesn't help, then yes you'd need to replace.

Are you running coolant or water in your cooling system?

Rule out other more simple possibilities before you consider replacing the heater core.

No. Just disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall and flush the heater core out with a garden hose. While the hoses are disconnected, check whether the valve actually works.

But don't do any of this until you check the coolant level and bleed the cooling system.

alright so tomrrow ill do this

-Check Coolant
-Bleed for air bubbles
-pull out the inlet and outlet hose at the firewall flush with higher preasure garden hose

all these if the heater doesnt work after 1 2 3 hopefully all these will help

is it common for heat cores to get plugged up with debris over the years or is it common for them to break like this

ALSO how does this explain that my slider ont he dashboard doesnt slide all the way over to cold its probalby like this Cold___[]_______________Warm
