Default Heat stopped working (97 lx)

Just recently purchased a 97 civic lx. Last night i was reattaching the rear window defrost clip and then drove to the gas station and back (heat worked perfect)

this morning i started my car let it run for about 10 minutes then took off to work. My temp was right where it was supposed to be but my vents were blowing ice cold air. after about 5 miles the temp gauge started to rise and i pulled over so not to overheat. did this 3 times on the way to work, heat never warmed up. I did fill the coolant but the level wasnt low to begin with

I went out on lunch break and started it and BAM "warm air" it started getting hotter too??? i popped the hood and the rad hose was limp ( no coolant) I dont understand whats going on. The rad hose was full and hot this morning with no heat working, then the heat works again but the hose is limp? seems backwards to me.

anyways im sure its not magically fixed.. what happened here?

There was an air bubble trapped in the cooling system. Always check the coolant level in both the reservoir and radiator when the engine is cool.

You may now want to bleed the cooling system to ensure that all air is removed.

how would an air bubble get trapped in there? something I did yesterday? I wasnt taking the cap off or anything...

So if the rad hose still isnt getting pressure does that mean there is a clog? or by bleeding the system it will fix that too?
