Headlights problem??????
My dim lights dont work. Well only the passanger side does. My brights work perfectly fine. My question is, How do i re-wire them so they work OR should i take it to a dealership and have them do it? Im getting HIDs here in the next 2 wks, So after i install those, would that fix the problem or what?

What kind of car do you have? It might be loose... my 95 ej1 was always loose for some reason. Some of my buddies have the same problem as me too. a little jingle here and a jiggle there and it was back on. Or your bulbs might just need replacing.

The ground wire on that side is loose. I've seen it quite a few times.
Find the ground wire on the side that is dim, and either tighten it, clean it off, or put it somewhere else and it'll brighten right back up. It should be held down with a small bolt on a ring terminal, thin black wire.

uh well i check the ground, even spliced into it and ran another wire, it didn't work. Then there was a bunch of gunk in the black connector that connects to the HL, i cleaned that, and still nothing. Any other ideas? All fuses r good also...

Damnit! I was almost certain it was the ground wire keeping the one light from being as bright as the other. That pisses me off because now I'm stumped.
If you happen to have a voltmeter/multimeter around, can you probe the headlight leads on either light to see if they're getting the same voltage? I wish you luck figuring this out and MAKE SURE you keep updating this thread like you are until you find out the problem as I am pretty curious to see whats going on.

nah those threads aren't any help... My driver side headlight isn't dim, it just doesn't work! Only the brights do... I tried cleaning the headlight plug out, even tried a new ground wire... still nothing works. Anyone else know wtf is wrong?

yeah each one has its own fuse... actually each "light" has its own fuse...
its the under dash fuse box... they are 10amps each..
fuses 9(R),10(L) (Highs) 21(R),22(L) (lows)

okay, so you sure that nothing works?
if your low beam's line isn't showing any voltage, then the line is fried or cut somewhere....
and since you mentioned your hooking up hids... or retroing in hids....your going to connect the ballasts and other equipment straight up to the battery... so i don't think you should be worrying about it...
you are just going to have to modify some of the wiring... thats all..
you could just go to a junk yard, and find the right harness... i'm sure you can find one... dunno what harness you would need tho.. sorry

ya the hid kit im buying is for my car... And yes i checked all fuses and wiring to the one headlight that doesn't work...i also cleaned the corosion off of it.. still nothing
