I wouldn't mind replacing the headlights in my 2000 Si. I am looking to go with either just a black housing or black housing and smoked lenses. As this is my daily driver and most of my money goes to my vette when I feel like playing with cars, I dont really want to come off the money to buy true CTR black headlights. Do any of you have experience or knowledge of any companies that make a decent headlight that fits and holds up within reason.

Why not just open yours up and repaint them? I did mine in gunmetal and I think they look pretty decent. All you have to do is put them in the oven on like 200 degrees for a few minutes to loosen up the glue. Then carefully pry them apart, paint what you want to on the inside, put them back together, and reseal them by putting them back in the oven to heat up the glue and clamp them back together. Then for added protection, run a new bead of silicone around the edge.

I have contemplated opening them up on several occasions to attempt a retrofit and also paint them. but knowing my luck I'd screw something up and end up having to buy all new ones. If I had a spare set i'd do it in a heartbeat. I may try a salvage yard to see if I can get some headlights to try it on.

It's not that hard. I was nervous when I did mine but it was pretty easy. Just take it nice and slow when you open them up and you won't break anything. The worst part is your house will smell for a little while.
