Headlight issue
Ok So I was driving home today and my high beams decided to pop on and stay on this time. Both high beams turn on, and when I click my headlight switch to turn the high beams off, the left side stays on high and the right side goes out completely. My low beams do not work at all. The bulb in my cluster for the high beams is stuck on.
I'm really stumped on this one guys. Anyone have a clue for this one?

Re: Headlight issue
I have doubts that it is my headlight switch. I took everything apart in my headlights including taking out m bulbs and swapping places. After I put everything back together my low beams magically worked. the issue still exists that I only have my left high beam working. I checked both underdash fuses and they are fine. The only thing still riding in my head would be the inline fuse with the headlight harness. There is an inline fuse on both sides. Could that be my issue? i have messed with the cluster wiring as I do have an alarm install. I do very well with wires. There are no shorts in the wiring for the cluster I'm positive of that.
Whenever I punch out my car is when my high beam cluster bulb flickers. If it flickers too much it pops my interior light fuse [runs tail lights and cluster lights]. This leads me to believe its a short in my high beam wiring. Is that inline fuse in the headlight harness for high beams?

Yes a short.... lawlz I feel like we re having an intelligent conversation over a blunt or something.
Where should I look for this short? How can I track it down?

Re: Headlight issue
well since you suspect that the short is coming from the headlight wiring, i would start of from there. then work your way back to the cluster. tracing shorts can be a pain in the *** but that's the only way to get things done. It might sound stupid, but have you checked to see if your grounds are ok?
Now that i remember a while back one of my friends was having a similar problem after he got his alarm installed, for some odd reason his right low beam kept on going out, he traced his problem back to the fuse box located inside the car.

Hmm. Well I can definitely check. Tracing that short is gonna suck though I can feel it. Was it his fuse box in itself? And the grounds to his motor or alarm? =P There are several grounds.

Re: Headlight issue
for some odd reason, when he got his alarm installed at the local circuit city, i guess they wired it wrong and it created a short that made the fuse box go bad. when he took it out, you were able to see a little are where it got burned.
As for the grounds, check the ones in the engine bay. Many times a bad ground can give many headaches. one more things make sure that the plugs where you connect the headlight bulbs aren't dirty or corroded, this might cause problems.

Re: Headlight issue
Well luckily I have an extra fuse box from my wrecked coupe. I'll check my connectors though. Thank for your help.
Anyone else having this problem or have ideas, please shoot me your $.02

Re: Headlight issue
Found the problem. Previous owner had a ghetto rigged HID set up and removed it. He didn't bother to connect 4 wires in the headlight wire harness. Ground wire was opened up and grounding on the chassis.
