Default headlight bulb question

i have a 95 civic si, and i noticed that my left headlight was out, so i took the bulb out and went to wal mart and replaced it, and it still didnt work.. then i noticed something else, (my right headlight works) but when i try to turn on my high beams it doesnt do anything.. any help is appreciated.

Check your fuses. I believe there are separate fuses for low and high beams.

Now it would be a good idea to try and figure out why that fuse blew. There was too much amperage in that circuit at some point for some reason. And noramlly, (unless the fuse was just getting really old) when it blows once it will blow again.

could it be from the generic blue bulbs i used to have? i hear they tend to consume a lot of energy, now im just going to use the oem lightbulbs.
