blackest finish? whats wrong with black paint?
i myself used engine enamel with a engine enamel clear. came out great. never faded. i ended up selling those headlights to someone who's been begging for'em for a while.

Not to jack the post or anything.....but how long did it take for the enamel paint to dry? I'm thinking on doing the same thing to my headlights.

Re: (Gunmetal-EM1)
i just used the 97 cent paint from walmart and it works and looks great. but i would suggest a high heat paint and something a little better quality.
be carefull heating up ur lights, dont do it too long, chrome paint inside will crack and flake away (mine a little bit anyway)
and take ur time with it be patient of course.
oh and prep them well, i had a little run get under my taping job and had to get that stuff out thats what i get for being in a hurry

Engine Enamel = Clear coat if you want more of a gloss look. Just don't make the paint drip.
about half hour out in the sun to dry. Less even.
