Headlight adjustments 1996-2000 Civics (we all need them none of us do them)
Ever felt sorry for the driver passing opposite of you with one headlight beam point up to heaven the other straight towards the ground? If not, eventually you will when his brightly beamed headlight flashes up and down in your rearview mirror as he passes over each bump you just hit. Today, that guy is me, tomorrow it's anyone else, for something that seems so easy why do so few have the answer. Why is it so difficult to accomplish having headlights with beams pointed towards the road? For those with Helm's manuals or experience help those (me) others out who don't know how to go about adjusting the headlights. The instruments located on the headlights are easily found, but how does a person go about adjusting them. On behalf of myself and others it would be appreciated

I don't really want to see that no one knows this answer , if I threw $100 dollars out my window, would you pick it up? Yes! Great answer this question.

Re: Headlight adjustments 1996-2000 Civics (MagoDeOz)
I have the same problem with my headlights and so does my bf. We both have been involved in a front end crash in the short life of our cars. I know a couple people who work at the Honda dealer down the street from my shop and they recommended aiming it at a wall. Whatever height ur car sits, mark the spots on the wall. Use a piece of tape or so as a target for the beams. Then just turn the little adjusters depending on how close you hit ur targets. I have to do this soon. It looks really dumb. My car looks like it has a lazy eye lol. I have the JDM CTR headlights in my 2000 Civic.

Much appreciated on the response people, but what am I turning here? It's not the time of day/night it's being able to twist those *****, I thought there was a tool that was supposed to be used to adjust them? Is this the dial that is about the size of a dime, maybe even the size of a quarter?

you need a medium sized phillips screw driver...oh you'll be turning the adjustment on the bottom of the headlights not the easily visable adjustment ****.....

Haven't seen a 6G Civic, but on a CRV, there are two 12mm bolts that determine left/right and up/down. See if your Civic has a bubble level. There should be a silver bolt with a "D" and an arrow symbol next to it (at least there's one on a CRV, not sure of your Civic) near the top corner towards the inside of the car....
