Default Headers/Cat/Exhaust for 94 SI Worth it??

Just tuning it up little by little.
I got it stock and have been putting a little in at a time.
Just trying to make it a little crisper and quicker, if that makes sense, like a good tune up.

So far, I put it AEM intake, Skunk2 70mm Throttle Body and Intake Manifold, AEM Fuel Rail, Iridium Plugs, and MSD Wires. When I did that, car sorta "woke up" I guess you could say.

Im about to really make a good dent. About to get MSD Ignition Box, Ignition Coil/distributor rotor kit. And lots of suspension goodness. Torque Solution Billet engine mounts, front and back strut bars, Ingalls Engine torque damper, Energy Suspension front to back bushings set. Also getting Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Puley Set! I know that the pulleys and keeping the engine/chasis still will make a huge difference.

Here's my question now...
Is it worth spending $1200 on Headers/Cat/Exhaust next?
Reasonable options look like DC Sports 4-2-1 Headers, Maganaflow Cat, and Skunk2 Exhaust.
I've heard great reviews about that Cat and Exhaust but also have heard that ebay exhausts arent much different.
And the DC headers. Ive heard that they cause a loss in HP across the band from some, and that the car came to life from some.
Why such conflicting reports on DC HEaders? Should I do this?
Again, no HP goals, no racing or anything, just looking to make the car pull a little better.

with the stock D series motor? no.. it isnt. man u can damn near do a complete B series swap for that and with the B series your car will be quicker than all that money spent on the D. i see you said no real hp goal or anything. but IMO.. its throwing money away.. but it also boils down to what you wanna do with YOUR car. there will be more of a gain from the swap then spending that on the D. just my opinion man

LOL pulleys making a huge difference ? go do some more research before you waste money. I hope this is being done to a b16 not a d16 even then b16's are worthless to go all motor on.

a DC header** is basically a stock itr manifold there's plenty of better options

Well I know I dont want to swap because Im actually buying my friends 94 Del Sol VTEC believe it or not. So I'll have both. But his is like showroom condition and fully built and all that so Im just gonna use that VTEC for summer driving type of thing. Im not gonna swap out motor on my daily driver. Thats why Im trying to get an opinion of the H/C/E being worth it... I know I want to do the other work though

well since it's a d16 boost it for the amount you're planning to spend trying to go all motor on a D

A DC header is only useful because most are C.A.R.B. legal. It's better than stock, but you won't gain a huge amount of power with them. The Magnaflow cat is a good idea. If you like a loud exhaust, then Skunk2 is fine.

But what you should invest in before fixing up your car, is a quality alarm system.

Good luck.

Define fully built.....

Block, Head, Ignition, Fuel, Piping, everything from the inside out.

Isnt a decent turbo kit like over $3000? Then I have to pay for hours of labor and pay to have them tune it. Too much money.

sounds like youve been wasting a ton of money on your car, 1200 for header and exhaust? thats nuts!

an aem fuel rail on a stock d series? a throttle body? you're literally wasting money buying crazy **** like a msd box? save all this money for the del sol and please stop buying parts.

for the money youve spent you could've swapped a b series into it...seriously.

Ive got my answer. Its not worth it. Lets try turbo. If I want a really fast spool time. Is .63AR fast enough or do I want .57AR? Would it matter?

Get a Garrett T3T4 50 trim and for the smaller D series I would go with a .48AR. Start looking in the marketplace there are some D series turbo stuff up for sale. If you buy smart and done mind some used but quality parts you can have a fast D series on boost and tuned for about $1500.
