Default Header Troubles EG UK VTi

Hey, 1st post here so I make it a nice easy one!!

I have a UK Civic EG VTi 1600 twin cam, not sure what your version of it is? I recently bought a header from a bloke on our Honda Forum 2nd hand. He says he bought it from the US for his but never got round to fitting it, and that it would fit mine no probs blah blah blah...

Right here's the fun bit.

http://forum.hondarevolutions....light=

See the post Cman with the pics about the O2 sensor hole.

Now I know US/Jap spec ones arnt exactly the same, but I spoke to a guy who owns a old shape CRX SiR and he says there's a small section of pipe as standard on his system that goes between the header and the decat section? Is this the case?

Any of you guys shed any light on the section I'm missing?

Sorry about the long post

Many thnks Si

I'm not a member of that board, so the link you posted won't give me access. If the header is too short, you usually need a bit of piping that is added beween the flange on the header, and the cat, so they mate up. Most muffler shops over here would charge about 30bux to add that piece.

I've never seen a factory piece to fill that gap, I've always had to add it during swaps into hatches. The new header looks extremely short, but you will need to add the 02 bung, and a section of piping to allow it to bolt up.

I take it there's no space for the O2 probe before the header joins the CAT?

Does the flange mate with the head correctly?

If it does, thats a very weird header, your only option is to get ur cat pipe extended and a O2 boss welded in, about £50 in all I'd expect

it looks like you have a header from a GSR us version. i have had one on me eg and the gsr header was short as hell upgraded to the jdm 4-1 w/2.5 collector and fixed my problem no pipes needed to be welded in
