i have a 97 ek hatch with the d16y7 and i was woundering if like i could use a aftermarket header from a d16z6 and the stock intake manifold off of it also im just also woundering if switching to that style intake manifold will increase my power please help thanks

you can but the exhaust piping will need to be modified and you will need to buy a catalytic converter for an ex. then you will need to have your exhaust cut and modified to accept the catalytic converter at the bottom of the car instead of the catalytic being built onto the header. also u would need to cut the wire loom open for your second o2 sensor so you can run it to the back of the motor where the cat will be now. or buy a O2 extension harness but it is not needed. as for the intake manifold the z6 intake manifold is not worth the troubles u would be better off swapping a y8 intake manifold on making sure if u have a 5 spd that u buy a 5 speed y8 intake manifold and vise versa. but doing this you will need the y8 ecu and t/b so you can run a 2 wire iacv as the y7 is a 3 wire iacv.

You aren't going to see any noticeable gains on either of those; waste of time. I will be doing the head/exhaust swap, but mine it because I have a cracked OEM header and a cat that throws a code every now and then. If you don't need to replace them I wouldn't bother.
