header questions, need help bad..?

header questions, need help bad..?
i just put on a used no name header..its in great shape, but i couldnt get the o2 sensors off the oem header, so my questions are:
1. whats the best way to get the sensors off?
2. whats running the car without them going to do?
3. and the after market header has two sensor inlets, one is already plugged with a bolt and the other isnt(so it makes a nasty noise) would i be able to run the car with just one sensor or do i have to put in both?

first off you need both sensors,just spray some pb blaster on them,let them soak for alittle bit and see if that helps

ok..the bottom sensor isnt long enough to reach the inlet on the new header...is wire stripping and connecting ok to make it long?

Take the manifold off, stick it in a vice and crank the hell out of the sensor with a big wrench and a breaker bar. If you can't get it, use PB Blaster like someone else said, or heat the manifold with a torch, preferably acetylene or at least MAPP. You want to expand the metal.

its gonna have a rough idle and run rich, which will cause a noticable drop in your MPG.

I don't know if anyone wrote it already because I don't feel like reading the posts but you need to have the correct O2 sensors for your car so you don't throw any CEL's. If you just leave that one in that you can't get it you will, A) throw a code for leaving it unhooked, or B) throw a code for it being the wrong O2 sensor because it is for another application. Make sure its the right O2 sensor first, then you might have to bring it to someone so they can heat it with the torch to get it out if that is necessary.

so am i not able to use the stock o2 sensors that came off the oem exhaust mani for the new header?

From experience, your best bet is to take the manifold off, then let it cool down for a long time. Because when it's hot, the metal is expanded, you have to let the metal cool down and contract.

An oxygen sensor's purpose on a vehicle is:
to measure or read the exhaust gases, so the ecu knows how much fuel needs to be added in the cylinders to compensate with the air. no o2... and your ecu doesn't have a clue how much fuel to add, so it dumps in a **** load of it.
