Header problem (99 si swapped gsr)
Ok I was reading a on headers where a guy has swapped a gsr in his ex and is having trouble finding a header, ok here is my problem, I have a 99 Si and bought a header from ebay 4-1 (no bashing, lol) and it was for "all B series engines" ok well It hooked up fine to my B16A2 and cleared everything, but now that I have swapped in a GSR engine it will not clear my oil pan, the runners are to short and just seems overall that the header alone is to short, So what do I do, Iam kinda weiry about buying any "will fit ALL B series headers" deals now so what should i do, I have been looking at the JVTR " will fit all B series" 4-1 headers or the meagan 4-1 header... but i am having trouble deciding (yeah a tri-y i will get later on down the road but for now, lol) thanks for any help
here is a link to the JVTR header i was looking at http://www.erzperformance.com/...r.htm

Re: (HondaBlock)
The GSR head (P72) is taller than the B16 head (PR3).
If you get something like a Rage or Hytech Tri-Y header, it is made for both. If I wasn't dark outside, I would take a pic of mine and show you.
When I bolted mine up, there is a decent amount of space left between the collector and the oil pan on my LS/VTEC setup with a B16 head.

Re: (HondaBlock)
well wats the problem is the bracket off the header hitting the oil pan? i had a similar problem with my b16 headers on my gsr engine..the bracket near the collector was hitting the oil pan ..simple fix ..i cut offf the bracket and it bolted right up no problems..

Re: (94eh2)
no it wasn't the mounting bracket with the two bolt holes, it was like the runners coming out of the exhaust ports were to short and where they turn at a 90 degree radius it hit the oil pan? wtf you know but it fit fine on my B16 plus i got it off of ebay but the ebay seller advertized it would fit"ALL b series engines"

PFFFFFT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Dumb. ***. The difference is NOT in the head, it's in the block. The B16A, NOT B, but A has a shorter deck height than all of the B series motors(not sure about the B17). A header made for a B16A with not fit a LS/B20/GSR/ITR/CTR block.

Re: (HondaBlock)
You can buy any GSR header and it will fit your GSR motor. But it has to be GSR specific only. If you are on a budget do a search for strup headers, you can get one from GIG Marketing for like $180 shipped. They are quality made and look really nice.
