Default Header issue...

I did search and found nothing on my problem.. I got an after market header from a friend for free the other day and hooked it up on my 96 ex coupe d16y8. I have a catback exhaust but the cat itself is stock and big and round.. Now on the stock downpipe there is a support you can say holding it in place it is welded to the pipe, The aftermarket header doesnt have any support its just the 2 bolts to the cat and the 9 on the block.... when im just sitting still my cat is jumping around and making a very loud noise that is obnoxious and annoying. Is there anyway i can replace the after market downpipe with my stock one? i no it isnt a noticeable power gain, but will i lose power using the stock DP? thanks in advanced...OR is there anyway to support the DP and cat so its not jumping all around? also my exhaust was already loud but now its louder it doesnt sound like a leak and i got like the popping noise when i let off the gas in gear when slowing down. is that normal?

Did you reinstall your spring bolts that connect the downpipe to the catalytic converter? Those bolts absorb vibration from the header and keep your cat from vibrating to much

no cuz those bolts that i think your talking about what it connected to was welded to the stock DP so only thing that is holding it on is the 9 to the block or head and the 2 to the cat, so i was just going to use the stock DP.

i highly dought it will fit. more power to ya its cast and would probbaly be too much wieght for a aftermarket header.
