Header for 6th gen DX? Cat?
Okay, forgive me if this has been covered.. couldn't find it.
I'm trying to find a decent header/cat back for my 97 dx hatch (still rolling the 1.6 sohc) in an effort to make it more fun to drive and the problem is the cat, being all 'one' with the dx factory piece and all.
What's the move here? What do you guys like for this setup? Any problems with just sticking an ex cat under the car?

I did the ex conversion style another idea i thought of if u have decent welding skills use a tubular turbo manifold as a header and a universal high flow cat so everything is in the original locations but dont know what kinda of performance that would yeild but anything is usually better than y7 mani's

Cool, thanks for the input. I would rate my welding skills at around a 0, so the other idea would probably cause mass destruction of some sort if I were the one trying to pull it off.
So since you've done this, if I grab an EX cat and appropriate mounting hardware there shouldn't be any nasty surprises after that as far as fitting it goes? (with the EX header/cat back, of course)
Thanks again.

Re: Header for 6th gen DX? Cat? (creeper ej)
shouldnt the only two probs i had were header flange and cat flange not mating perfect but was fixable, and the second ceramic catalyst inside the cat came loose after a while. however everypart i used was after market which is probably 99% of why that **** happened. cheap header and bad luck on a cat on other thing the ex has two hangers on the pipe directly after the cat dx only has one however ive been using just the one and have not had a problem and do not forsee a problem all the other hangers are adequite
