Re: Head gasket and valve issue?
Maybe you should get more insight on situations before you make assumptions; a simple, can you prove more info on maintence/how much you beat on the car, would have worked fine if not significantly better. I just purchased the vehicle from a middle aged engineer and he did not have records. Before you chew me out for the purchase, this is not my DD, I was just wanting a cheap track car. Just because you are not college educated (I assume this based on an educated guess backed by evidence) and clearly have some issues (emotional maybe? I'm not wrong, am I? Again, this is a guess that I can support if needed) doesn't mean that you need to tear down another human over the Internet. I'm hoping that you are just having a bad day. I've never met another car enthusest that has ever talked down about someone else autoXing a slow car. In fact, every one who is involved with the autoX events encourages others to come out, even if they have under qualified cars. Again, uneducated assumptions. I'm learning to race so there is no need for a fast car. I hope that other Honda enthusiast are genuine, kind people that are more polite than yourself.

You answered your own question. With smoking like that it has to be a head gasket, valve seal, or piston ring issue but I see your smoke is blue indicating a ring issue, or it could be all 3. Give it a wet and dry compression test. Now this will tell you exactly how healthy your motor is.

Do you know where or by whom the head gasket replacement was done? If not done correctly, it has a high likelihood of failure. If the previous hg failed and caused overheating, simply replacing with a new hg will not necessarily solve the issue.

Yea, I have no idea where it was done. I'm going to call the dealership on Monday with the VIN to see if they have any record of it. What do you recommend to do if the car previously overheated? Get the head rebuilt?
