smoking at WOT doesn't necessarily mean a HG issue. If you are experiencing no coolant loss, but some oil loss it could also be the rings.

White smoke is what you're looking for when you're dealing with the headgasket.
The only way to be sure though, is to do a leakdown test.

I pulled the pcv valve and I smell fuel. It also has lost a lot of power. The engine has 80000 on it. The valves are out of adjustment as well, but not too bad.

I'm about to put a y8 head on it. But i want ot make sure that it's gasket before i proceed. How do you do a leakdown test?
