Head Gasket question
I was working on my friends 93 hatch, he was complaining about it overheating. I am thinking head gasket is gone with how it was running ruff, white smoke out the muffler, I wasn't able to get the air out of the cooling system so it just kept bubbling a bit. I was wonder who makes a good gasket kit for the d15, I see a few on ebay but I am unsure of who makes a quality kit. I am looking for the whole kit with the valve cover gasket and everything else I need when I got the exhaust and intake apart. Also who makes a decent timing belt kit and water pump since I will replace those while I got the whole thing apart. Also would you guys replace the cylinder head bolts or am I fine to reuse the old ones? Thanks Josh.

Re: Head Gasket question
depending on how long hes been running it you might have to remill the head. check it with a straight edge.
as for gaskets is it just a stock car? id say honda for the everything. IL4 has whole top side gasket sets for bout 200 bucks.
if not felpro. and still honda for everything else. or gates for the timing belt.

Re: Head Gasket question
Its a bone stock civic that's never beat on or driven hard at all. I was going to check the head but if i get it machined won't i need to pick a head gasket based on how much is shaved off the head? Now if he doesn't want to spend the $$$ on oem parts who makes some decent alternatives for water pump and timing belt. This is just a car to drive places not to mod.
