Head Gasket Howto?
Ive blown my head gasket. My car overheated and I was forced to drive it a little further to get it to a gas station. Unfortunately I have white smoke coming from my exhaust.
I searched on this site and could not find a how to with pictures on changing out a head gasket. Im very visual so its helps.
Anyone know? different site?
Thanks in advance

Re: Head Gasket Howto? (ColMustard)
expletive the how-to.
Your head's probably warped to ****. Your engine needs work. Machine work. You can't just blow a head gasket, drive it around, then replace it. Especially if it's been around for awhile (I'd say anything 100k+ is eligible for head warpage on replacement, but on a BLOWN head gasket it's warped 9 times out of 10).
Your head needs to be milled down to flatten it out - then a new head gasket can be installed.
Don't just replace the headgasket because it won't lay flat hence: Doing nothing.

Re: Head Gasket Howto? (Syndacate)
Listen to Syndacate, theres no point in doing the headgasket without machinework then having it leak. Do it right the first time.
