Default hay guys i'm stuck here

I'm in the process of pull the head out of my 94 civic dx.
I need to replace the head gasket.

This is how far i got so far.

I'm fawkin stuck. yes stuck. i don't have a wrech for 12mm to take the intake manifold out. I have a socket but that won't fit there, there isn't not enough space for it to fit.

Well here are the pics.

My question to you guys is that, am i missing anything else.
I didn't losen the timing belt tensioner.
I just pulled the belt off, and it came off.
do i have to mess with the power steering belt, and the alternator betls.

Look closly to the Third pic. I took the fuel rail out, and the header.
so all i need to do is to take the intake manifold out RIGHT.
and i will be able pull the head right off. right ???

u can pull the manifold with the head... just unbolt the bracket that goes from the intake manifold to the block...

its just a metal angled piece that holds the IM securly in place. should be 1-12mm bolt i believe. right on the underside of the manifold.

http://www.helminc.com

its not hard to find. big black piece of metal connecting the IM to the engine
take that off, remove all hosts from IM then pull the head.

just look behind your intake manifold. YOu'll see a black metal piece that is braced to the manifold. to get the other bolt you'll have to get under the car though.

If you still wanna take the Intake manifold off, just go get a 12mm wrench!

I took the intake manifold's bracket out. They were two 12s screws.
did i get the right one.

because i still can't get the head out.
the head won't budge.
Do i need to force it with something or what did i forget to take out.
I don't need to take the motor mount out do i ??

sometimes they are stuck on pretty tight...me and hondacrx had to put a board under the distributer and jump on it trying to remove a head off of a blown D16.

btw I don't recomend such things...make sure all bolts are removed, and just keep tugging at it.

I tried, the whole motor moves slightly.

I didn't touch the alternator, and the powerstering belts. I only took the timing belt off.

Could that be it.

I can't pull the im completly off, there are too many wires, and hoses i can't figure out. Alteast i got the head off.

The head gasket melted. Its stuck to the head, and the block is dirty as hell.

i will post pics soon.

just disconnect the hoses & clips on the IM. there's a coolant line, a bunch of vacuum lines, and some clips

go to Auto Zone and buy a Helms manual. It is $14.99 for one, I know I work there part time.............BTW, any guys in the Wilmington, NC area that need cv axles for swaps, bring me your stock civic axles and I will use them as cores for the teg axles, they never look at that **** anyways. I can also hook people up with 20% discounts if you need big parts. Just take your time, look at all aspects of unhooking wires, hoses and the linkage, it can easily be taken off and please be patient!

When taking the IM off you will lose coolent...lots of it...i drained mine
- There is alot of wires to take off to get the IM to come out with the head. And yes it is a pain to get to the last bolt just under the IM. I gave up! but i didnt absolutly need a new gasket..and i hope i dont need one any time soon

I got most of the wires out.
I think all i need to do is take the whole fuel rail out, do something about the throtle (sp) cable. Than i should be able to just pick it out of my engine bay.

Man 0 man. you guys gotta see the head gasket. that hoe is melted on there like a ****. I still can't see the whole thing, because i have to duck down to see.

pics will come as soon as i get the head off the engine bay

One more thing. do i need to send the head to the machine shop or no.
Someone told me that i have to send it to the machine shop so they can port my valves or something. I'm replacing the head gasket because of the overheating problem i have with the civic. do i need to do that. and what if i don't send the head to the machine shop, and just slap it back on there, with a new head gasket.

Hey buddy, I think you should stop working on your car right now and get a Helms shop manual, or at least a Haynes shop manual. The time you've wasted asking questions on there could have been spent out in your garage reading the manual with the car right in front of you. If you work on a car without knowing what your doing OR a shop manual, you deserve to have it towed to a shop.

I may be calous, but I speak the truth. Heed my words now, or come begging for help when you **** something up later.
