Check the fluid in the resovoir. If you're low, add some, then check all the fittings for leaks, check the slave cylinder, and check just under the master cylinder inside the car for a greasy looking leak. If the fittings leak, undo them with a flare nut wrench, and teflon tape them. If the slave cylinder is leaking, time for a new slave cylinder. If theres a leak on your firewall inside the car, its time for a new master cylinder. If your master cylinder is going, your slave cylinder is not far behind.

How many miles on the clutch. I have never heard of a hydraulic system failure giving a hard pedal. I have had spring go in the clutch and jam up the pressure plate and not let the clutch disengage

master cyl, slave cyl, flexible line to slave is old and restricting fluid, they can swell up inside and block the flow of fluid, or a major mechanical clutch problem that will need surgery inside.
