Having trouble with OBD1 Gsr
Have a 98 eK hatch just put a 94 Obd1 Gsr in the car everything went smooth, tried starting the car afterwards it will turnover. We used the stock wiring harness and it is throwing a code 14. Can anyone tell me where to get a aftermarket wiring harness

Re: Having trouble with OBD1 Gsr (jayb98ek)
well i can help out. i have a '00 hatch with a '95 obd1 gsr motor. maybe if i tell you my setup, it will help you out. first of all i changed the injectors, distributor, and alternator to fit a obd2 motor harness. ('99-'00 Civic Si motor harness.) i'm using an obd2-to-obd1 jumper/harness to run on a p28-p30-p72. if u use the the obd2 si computer (p2t), u will have a check engine light because the crank sensor(obd1 motor does not have), 2nd o2 sensor, and i think that's about it. i recommend you get a '99-'00 single cam vtec harness(civic ex {manual}), or a '99-'00 civic si harness. then get the obd2-obd1 jumper which runs for like 100 bucks to convert to obd1. thatway u don't have to worry about the crank sensor, or the 2nd o2 senor. after that, you shouldn't have a check engine light unless something else is wrong with the motor.

Re: Having trouble with OBD1 Gsr (B18C1 EK9)
we didnt change the distributor or the injectors we used my stock wiring harness and wired it using the plugs off of the the gsr harness. I am using a ecu out of a 98gsr. The motor is gettin spark and fuel but its throwing a code 14 which is the idle control valve. The kid who is doing the swap told me to buy a harness from placeracing.com. The motor was running two years ago the guy i bought it off from bought it for his civic, but he sold it so the motor has been sitting for two years almost on a engine stand. the kid who is doing it is almost positive that it wont start because of the idle control valve

Sounds like you didn't wire up the IACV correctly.
Did you do the IACV fix? Yours is a factory three wire IACV and the 94 B18C uses a 2 wire -- so you need to get rid of the ORG wire.
HTH.

Re: Having trouble with OBD1 Gsr ( throttle cable)
also my stock d series throttle cable is too long, i was wondering if all b series throttle cables would be the same, like would a 99-00 si cable be the same as a 94 gsr

Re: Having trouble with OBD1 Gsr (poison)
i forgot to mention we were pressed for time we put that motor in and none of the cooling system was hooked up. we tried starting it without it just to see if it would start. I dont think that would throw that code for not having the radiator and hoses hooked up. Im trying to figure this out for the weekend
