Have a B16 block. Need to install new dipstick tube. How?
Just as the title states.
I removed the old tube when I sent the block off to get built. Came back without a tube obviously.
Now I can't get the old one to fit in right. Just kind of sits in there losely. Not cool.
How do I get this damn thing back in there.
Tried to tap it in a bit. No go.
Tried a long *** screwdriver right on the lip, and then tapped THAt with a hammer...no go
Forgot to mention that the engine is already installed.
Any help would be appreciated.

lube it with some oil and take a screw driver and tap around the outside ring of it.

Re: (93egSLEEPER)
clean both base metals real well, then just go ahead and
set the welder to ac pulse. stick the torch and pretty much STAB the area with the filler metal......
ORRRRRRRR
use 100% argon, with the mig set to ac........ make sure to use a compatible aluminum wire and tack all the way around creating a nice seal
the wire feed being the easier method

Re: (IslandSi)
This is what i did, got a 1/4 long extention and put it in the neck of the tube. Lightly hammered it down until it sit good. Twisted the extention and it was done no problem.
