Have any of you cut your upper timing belt cover? Pic to show example!
While at Daytona Tuner Bash today I noticed an Eg/GSR with the upper timing belt plastic piece cut to expose the cam gears. I am curious if any of you have done this and what kind of risks does this bring to the motor? If any?
I am talking about cutting on the orange line as shown in the picture:
Also, anyone care to let me in on how to clean those cams while I have them off would be really helpful

There really arent too many risks other than the belt would wear faster, im not saying super fast but since its exposed to the elements more i would think that it would wear/dry out quicker.I personally think it looks quite good cut to expose the cam gears.

i'll probably cut mine when i get adjustable cam gears or replace the ones i have now.

I've seen a lot of people do that..but it's just never seemed like a very good idea to me
