Default Hatchback transmission
Are the hatchback transmissions any different than the sedan or coupe transmissions? I have a 1998 civic hatchback with a d16y7, and my dad says that only hatchback transmission will fit, but I'm pretty sure any d16y7 transmission will be able to fit.

all D series hydro manual transmissions will fit.... your dad is wrong lol....

It will fit, even the 92-95 D-Series trannies will fit.

Dad is wrong this time.

All 92-00 D-series transmission are interchangeable. But not all have the same gearing.
