Default Hatchback 2004

I was thinking about buying a new car. Is it at all possible to swap the Honda Civic Si K20 with the JDM Spec RSX Type-S K20 (with the six speed hydraulic transmission)? If so what do I need, I mean, I'll need the shift linkage and probably a new gear box. But would the stick placement of the Si screw up the swap?

1st off wrong forum you should have posted in the RSX/EP3 (2002+ civic si) forum

2nd you could keep your tranny but I would suggest getting a complete swap which comes with the ITR(dc5) or RSX-S tranny which is a 6spd - that is better geared for the high rev'ing jdm k20a (ITR) or k20a2 (RSX-S)

many people have already done this swap...having the shifter in the dash does not do anything

Can't he just swap on the RSX head and call it a day? use the type S hardware where needed to make that work.

but why???? just put a turbo on top

No you don't . The ITR K20A drops right in, bolts right up to the Si transmission and requires no external modifications to work absolutely flawlessly with what's already there. So, basically, all you need is to find a K20A longblock on eBay, pull and sell your Si longblock and you'll end up with a K20A powered Si for under $3000.
