Hatch weight difference from 96 to 99
I recently acquired a 99 Civic CX hatch 5spd and was looking at the weight list and wondering why (according to the master weight list) 99 civic hatches weigh 200lbs more than 96s, they're pretty much the same car, no? Is it safety equipment? Rear wiper? Emissions equipment? What is pushing the weight up so much on a car with no power steering and no AC!? If you have any ideas as to what is causing my car to be fat please post them. Thinking I'm going to remove the rear wiper and spare tire, there's really not allot to this car (used to own a v6 MX6 with all the options, car was a biatch to work on but comfy).

Seriously nobody knows? Could it be an error on the list?
Looks like I'm going to have to go to a weigh station sometime and settle this for myself.

it could be extra body reinforcements for safety.. for example more reinforcements in the door panels, inside bumper or something to protect the driver in case of an accident.
