I've been after JUN for like a year and they keep telling me it's close to a release date. Lord knows when they'll finally make it available.... or how much it'll cost!

Does anyone make a thin head gasket for the D16 like Spoon does for the B series?
(Raises compression like .4 I think)

Try a stock D16Y8 head gasket, one of (if not the) thinnest Honda head gaskets.

Jun and Zex share the same parts.. Zex is trying to market their cams harder...
I'd buy a Zex cam in a heartbeat if I had a SOHC... on the dyno, without a cam gear, with i/h/and a weld on muffler, a del sol with that cam made 127 at the wheels... pretty decent
Cam was proved to make 19HP on it's own.

i'm not sure about the actual power increase using the zex cam, but a 5th gen si hatch was tested in the Nov. issue of sport compact car. they got soem decent increases without cam gear tuning or fuel tuning......about 7hp at the wheels i believe. the car was already running 123 at the wheels with just i/h/e.....which was a but hard to swallow, but they had the dyno sessions to prove it. looks liek they could be a decent cam with the right tuning.

I have a 92 Si hatch, with I/H/E, it pulled 122 at the wheels so I fully believe that SCC article. I too was suprized at the numbers I pulled, but just recently a friend bought a 93 Si hatch, totally stock, I can walk from it with no trouble. I drove his, mine has WAY more midrange.

Gude Sucks... A FULL GUDE PACKAGE 93 Si here in town gets WALKED by a full interior CX with a i/h/e on a d16z...
I'd find a nice reputable shop like DPR to do the headwork, get a zex cam and valvesprings, Ti retainers, extrude the intake manifold or get a nice ported one, and haul ***. Just my opinion tho.

Where GUDE fails is their head work... I was able to look at first hand before it was put on a car, and I really didn't like the quality of the port work. As far as the cams go, GUDE neglects to mention that the cams work best with "stock" valve springs and that stiffer springs will shorten the life of the cam. Also, I'm not a big fan of them shaving the head to raise the compression. I recently had my head p&p'd with 5angle valve job with the stock valve springs but with new retainers, locks, and valves, A replaced the cam with a GUDE street cam, the head is going on this weeknd barring any difficulties and I will have dyno results and video after the break-in period is over. Here are some pics of the head work

does anyone know, if the EG Civic VTi,and Si and as well as EJ Civic EX, cams differ in specs....
also thinging of going with ported head but from the looks the 96+ EX which will come intake manifold seems like a better deal

The ZEX cam is worth 2 tenths on a 75 shot NOSed 1.6L SOHC. I fully believe this as I've matched there posted times before the cam swap. But is it worth the price tag? I don't think so!
BTW ZEX/Crower are using JUN blanks for their cams. They will casting there own soon.

thanks mista bone..
also any advantage of 96+ head/intake vs a d16z head/intake setup, other then compression...
also i heard of 96+ bottom ends going quickly due to some defect...
thanks

i agree with the price of the ZEX cam...dohc non-vtec b18a/b cams from crower can be had for about 400 for a pair...and a measly little sohc vtec cam is 3x the price give me a break...

yah but wouldnt the low price be because it isnt vtec arnt vtec cams a lot harder to produce than no vetec??? I would assume this because of the huge price jump between vtec and non vtec cams
